Food Distribution Powered by Hon. P. Mike Jurry

About sixty-nine(69) churches, the Disabled Community and vulnerable individuals including disadvantaged youths in Harper will benefit from a food assistance initiative undertaken by Hon. P. Mike Jurry. The office of the lawmaker through the church and other key organizations including the group of 77th will distribute bags of rice, cartoons of sardines and other assorted food items in the coming days.

About one thousand (1000) bags of 25kg rice, cartoons of Sadines and other assorted food items have been procured by Hon. Jurry and loaded on truck to be distributed to vulnerable residents. The Lawmaker and Church leaders during a meeting on Wednesday July 29 agreed and drafted strategies to guide the food distribution to ensure it reaches the most vulnerable people in the various church and communities.

Each church leader(s) will receive consignments on behalf of their Ministry and do onward distribution among their members.

During the meeting, Hon. Jurry told the church leaders that his intent to provide food assistance to some residents was to have everyone joyfully celebrate the July 26 but the food items did not arrive in the District before the 26 because he received the full listing of churches late.

President of the Christian Ministers Association Rev. Tingbah and other church leaders who spoke during the meeting thanked Hon. Jurry for what they described as a scripture fulfilment gesture and vowed to ensure the most vulnerable people receive the food items.

He also committed to working with the religious community in addressing keys issues, urging the Ministers to at all times collaborate for the betterment of the District and feel free to propose the best ways in which the vulnerable people in the District can be helped.

People to benefit from the food distribution include people with disability, old folks and disadvantage youths and other vulnerable groups.
