‎Over the weekend, about ten residents of Harper City began rebuilding their lives after receiving three bundles of zinc roofing donated by District #1 lawmaker P. Mike Jurry. The donation offers immediate relief to victims who have been homeless for weeks following natural and fire disasters.

‎Representative Jurry said the assistance was prompted by distress calls he received in January from residents whose homes were destroyed by heavy storms and fire outbreaks. “When my people are hurting, I must respond,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to stand with constituents in times of crisis.

‎For beneficiaries, the donation means more than building materials — it represents dignity and a second chance. Many said the disasters swept away their belongings and left them feeling abandoned and hopeless.
